Greetings!
Just would like to introduce myself here as to what this little blog is about. As the name goes, you would have guessed I am one of those shopaholics like many out there. And I thought, hey why not share a little of my thoughts, news and gossips with the rest of the shopaholics out there like me? I’m sure there were the times when you missed those near bargains by just a jiffy and go oh darn! I was like so eyeing on that piece! Or to hear the bad news, sold out! Urghh!! No size?? Double urghh!!
So I thought why not update the lot of the shopaholics of what’s up to date and in stocks before they all finish and we hear about it post-mortem? Yup, precisely what this place is about.
Now, I hope you weren’t expecting like updates about every single shop out there, I wish I could (and would love to!) but yes time and responsibilities restrict that. If you wanna share your yummy gossips on the latest steal, promote your shop, just holler! And I’ll share it with the rest of the girls out there!
I will mainly be blogging about the online shops alright? (Don’t get to go out much due to assignments and other stuff that holds me down, hence why. And I wanted to de-myth the whole online shopping idea too as I am SO enjoying online shopping! *winks*)
As for myself, I have only discovered this as of late, so imagine the amount of goodies I missed! I know, I know, you have your scepticisms about shopping online. I have my fair share and heard a fair share from others too. These are some common comments about the world of online shopping:
What if it doesn’t fit me??
- Measure yourself with the clothes you are currently wearing and compare with the measurements provided by the online boutique. Do allow a minimum of up to 0.3 inches allocation should measurements differ. Usually they operate by a UK clothes chart and I’ve found a little link that might prove useful to you, should you consider shopping online or not (a little extra knowledge or info never hurts rite? *winks) Here you go: UK Clothes Size Chart. Anyhow, do measure yourself to confirm, I know how we girls can be so fussy when it comes to clothes. The right fit, the right look, the right material… etc etc
What if it gets lost in the mail??
- Usually, items are sent via POSLAJU or by Courier and these are registered post. Your online boutique will provide you with the code for you to track your shipping and estimate how long it would take to reach your doorstep.
Are bank transactions safe??
- Well so far, it’s been safe for me as my purchases do arrive at my doorstep *grins* Imagine how happy I am to wake up and find a new piece of clothing. Tee-hee. Well, if you don’t have a bank account (an online one or that sort) opt for COD?
Meeting up with a stranger??
- Get to know your supplier of your gorgeous clothes? Get to know someone new and you never know, you might get some helpful handy fashion tips *winks* It’s fairly interactive and getting to know someone wouldn’t make them a stranger no more! And so far, I have dealt with a couple and they’re really nice people! Ever so patient to answer questions and such.
What if the boutique closes down??
- You can start off by monitoring their business, look at their chatbox for feedback and such to see how the business goes and when the business has gain your trust, then you may shop with a content heart and free of worries.
And so much more right?
Well, I have to say buying online does come with a risk as they are no exchanges and goods sold are not refundable. But nevertheless, you can sell it off to others if it doesn’t fit instead of it sitting in your closet. The most common place where these second hand items gather is found here: Selltrade KL, KL’s very own community for selling off second hand items! All you need is an account, follow the instructions on the page given and voila! Wait for answers! Or.. you can opt for someone to post it up for you and such plus a commission to the blogger of course, and this is where you can do so: Shop Alot Store.
IF, you really don’t trust the whole online shopping spree due to scams, and yes there are such people who choose to exploit technology, why not have a look anyways? At least you’ll get fashion tips right? No harm done =)
So, ready for an adventure to the online world of shopping?
Go ahead to the next post!
I think this is long enough an introduction. Tee-hee
XOXO,
Your sister in shopping
